Faith Patricia Ariokot, a 29-year-old environmental activist from Kampala, Uganda, set a world record by hugging a tree for 16 hours and 6 seconds. Her goal was to highlight the importance of trees in fighting climate change. Faith describes her connection to the tree as instant and profound.
Despite the physical discomfort and challenges such as technical failures and bad weather, Faith remained determined. She believes trees can sense human emotions and found strength in her bond with the tree.
Faith hopes her achievement will inspire global action towards environmental conservation. She urges everyone to plant a tree, emphasising the vital role of individual efforts in combating climate change.
